ART + TEXT... is a work of ten paintings which include texts in the form of speech bubbles, dialogue boxes and captions, satirising and reviewing some of the conventions and pretensions in local Australian art history. It comprises 8 copies after Australian tonal realist/academic paintings, dating from 1883 (Lucy Walker) to 1958 (Sir William Dargie) plus two original paintings all which involve texts in the form of speech bubbles, dialogue boxes and captions.
